The SX-20 is the second-smallest model in the new Revo SX Spinning
lineup, and screams smallmouths, panfish, and trout. But around here in
August, the best I could do was smallies and catfish. I had an overnight
kitty mission on the Delaware River planned with fishing editor Joe
Cermele, and the pre-dusk hours made the perfect setting for a field
test.
The SX-20 feels incredibly well built and is the perfect size and
weight to balance on a light-action rod for casting small lures and
bait. I had no problem reaching my targets. While the Delaware’s
bronzebacks wouldn’t come out and play, I did manage to get a healthy
channel cat to eat a nightcrawler—and an awesome fight on light-action
gear ensued.

Misses
There were a couple occasions when I accidentally tripped the back-reel switch. Not sure if that had more to do with operator error or the switch's placement or sensitivity, but it's something to watch out for. Having your reel spin backwards at the wrong time can make a mess of your line and might even cost you a fish.

The Revo SX-20 is a stellar reel for bass, trout, and panfish, and one that can take a beating and keep on fishing. The larger models should perform just as well for big bass, pike, and even inshore salt-water species.
